CASA-Poker Rules

Composition of the H. CASA-Poker Organization

1. At least two official members of CASA, possibly extended with a third member with no specific affiliation.

2. If no member of CASA is willing to join the organization as a second member of the organization, then all power goes to the first member. The organization should still consist of at least two members, with a second member from outside CASA.

2.1:An exception to this case is when no second member volunteers.

3. If no member of CASA can take part on the organization, then the rules can not be changed until a successor within CASA is found.

On the power of the CASA-Poker Organization

1. A rule can not be permanently modified or added, without the unanimous approval of the Organization.

2. If a rule related to the composition and power of the organization, or to the ranking system, is modified or added; this shall only hold starting from the next season.

3. A rule on the Poker game play, can be temporarily modified for a match, if all present members of the organization and honorific fellows agree.

4. A new member of the organization can be elected by voting within the present organization. Honorific fellows might take part on the voting.

4.1: If a new member is required to keep the 2-members composition of the organization, then at least 1 person from the volunteers should be elected.

On the CASA-Poker Honorific Fellows

1. A member of the CASA-Poker will gain the title of CASA-Poker fellow, if the member fulfill each of the following requirements:

- The member should have played in at least 100 official matches.

- The member should have won at least 10 official matches.

- The name of the member should appear  at least once in the Hall of Fame. A mention in the 3rd place of the Summer Season does not count.

On the day of the match

1. Any match with less than 5 players does not count for the ranking

1.b. The previous rule does not apply for the matches of the summer season.

2. All matches are expected to be held on Friday. Nonetheless, a match might be reschedule under certain conditions.

3. A match can only be rescheduled due to one of the following reasons:

3.1: If the match is in conflict with a CASA related event. For example, defense of CASA member, etc.

3.2: If the day of the match takes place on an official Holiday.

3.3: If a majority of regular players in a pool or voting event supported by the official CASA-Poker organization, decides to reschedule the match.

3.3.a: under the term regular player we understand a player that falls into one of the two categories:

- A player has joined at least 30% of the matches in the present season. If the present season has less than 5 matches, then the player should have joined at least 30% of the matches of the previous season.

- A player is ranked in the top 5 of the present season.

4. A match can only be rescheduled for another day in the same week. The new date of the match should be announced or proposed (in a pool) at latest on Monday in the same week that the match will take place, in order to count for the ranking.

5. If a match is held outside Eindhoven, the match should be announced or proposed at least 2 weeks in advance in order to count for the ranking.

On the Poker game play rules

1. Unless indicated otherwise by the organization. All game play rules are according to the ones shown in the link TexasHold’emRules

2. If a player on its turn, is not sitting on his place, he has 30 seconds to return and play. Otherwise he will be put on auto-fold.

3. A player cannot give his place to other player.

On matches with multiple tables

1. The maximum number of players at one table is 10.

2. Matches with multiple tables count as one game.

3. For players at different tables it holds that players that are out first end lower in the ranking.
4. The numbers of players per table will be balanced during the game, such that the difference is at most one. When the difference becomes larger than one, the tables will be balanced before the cards are dealt again by sending a random player at the table with the largest number of players to the table with the lowest number.
5. The game is played with two tables until the number of players is equal to the maximum of the initial numbers of players at the two tables. After that the match is proceeded at the final table. Thus if the match started with one table of 6 players and one table of 5 players, than the match is played with two tables until there are 6 players left, that thereupon go to the final table to resume the match. In other words, if there are 2n or 2n-1 players (with 5 < n < 11) the game is first played with two tables until n players are left, then the game is proceeded with one table.

On the ranking system

In a game with n players, the player who comes in the i-th positions earns:

pb[n, i] := (70 n r[n]^i)/((1 – r[n]^(n + 1))/(1 – r[n]) – 1)

where r[n] := (2^((Min[n, 25] – 5)/50 – 1))

In addition, kicking out a player x with bounty b(x) you earn hp[x]:

hp[x]:=20 n b(x) / Sum[{for each player y in the game},b(y)]

If you win the game, you earn also your own hp score (because no one won it)

Finally, each player earns 10 point just for joining the game

The  bounty of a player x is computed as

b(x)=(400+total_score(x))/(4+played_games(x))

Special Cases:

1. In the unlikely (but possible) situation that a player is kicked out by two or more players. The hp points of the player who was kicked out will go out to the player with a winning hand who is the closest to the left from the dealer (i.e., the player on the earliest position).

2.  In the extremely unlikely case that two players with exactly the same amount of chips are kicked out by the same person. Then their order in the ranking will be decided by drawing the largest card.

3. In the case a player decides to leave the game while still having chips left, then the hp points of the player leaving will go to the player  who draws the largest card.
